We're taking a break from our usual 'Stable Situations' blog series to share more with our Misty Acres family about our adventures at Misty Acres York! 'Stable Situations' was created to tell the heartwarming stories of how our animals found their forever homes here at the farm. But this year, Misty Acres Farm & Sanctuary has found its own new 'stable situation' in York, SC.

As many of you know, our mission began in Woodstock, GA, where we spent 8 wonderful years connecting with our community and adding rescue animals to our family. In January 2024, we made a big move to York, SC. This isn’t just a new location, but a safe place for our farm animals and a great place to continue the work that began in 2015. Misty Acres York represents our ongoing commitment to be a sanctuary for animals and humans alike. We provide rescue, rehabilitation, safety, and love for all who enter.

We’re thrilled to see our rescue animals thriving in their new environment. From our horses and donkeys to our friendly welcoming mascot pup, Mocha, to our loyal barn cats, it has been an honor to watch them explore their new surroundings with curiosity and joy.
Alongside our familiar faces, we’ve also welcomed a few new members to the farm. Our rescue efforts will never stop. Our brand-new chicks, new barn cat, and friendly ducks all have their own story, and we’re honored to be part of their journey and welcome them into the Misty Acres Farm Family.

This year has been packed with additional exciting milestones! We launched a new monthly newsletter, and continued our farm fresh egg deliveries. We celebrated Sugar’s 26th and Sundae’s 18th birthdays, hosted summer events like Donkey Days, Ponies & Popsicles, and Summer Farm Tours, and shared in the joy of our founder, Julie Clark, getting married to Tony Rossi!

What's Next for Misty Acres York?
It’s been an incredible year, but we’re just getting started at Misty Acres York. With plans to expand our rescue efforts, launch new volunteer programs, and host more community events, the future promises to be full of new adventures and opportunities to connect with our mission.
Thank you for taking a moment to reflect with us—and stay tuned for even more exciting updates as we continue this incredible journey together!
