Spread Holiday Cheer: What the Animals at Misty Acres Farm Are Dreaming Of

The holiday season is a magical time for everyone, including our beloved animals of Misty Acres Farm. While you’re busy making your holiday gift list, the animals at our sanctuary have one of their own! 

From cozy bedding to nourishing feed, here’s what our four-legged and feathered friends are wishing for this Christmas:

• Bales of Hay

  • Hay is the ultimate comfort food for our horses, ponies, and donkeys. A fresh bale of hay not only provides the nutrition they need but also keeps them warm during chilly winter nights. Whether they’re munching happily in the barn or out in the pasture, hay is always at the top of their Christmas list.

• Bags of Horse Feed

  • Our equine residents love their meal times, and ensuring they have the right mix of nutrients is vital for their health and energy. A bag of high-quality horse feed makes the perfect stocking stuffer for our hardworking rescues, giving them the energy they need to thrive.

• Bags of Bedding

  • Comfort starts with a soft, dry place to rest, and our animals love fresh bedding to snuggle into after a day of frolicking in the fields. Clean, cozy bedding helps them stay warm and ensures their stalls remain a comfortable refuge. It’s the gift of a good night’s sleep – who could say no to that?

• Grooming Brushes

  • Nothing beats a good grooming session for bonding time and equine care... which often turns into quiet time and self-care, too. Grooming brushes help keep our animals clean, healthy, and looking their best. Plus, they’re our favorite tool for a little extra pampering. A new set of grooming brushes would definitely put a smile on their faces (and a shine on their coats!).

• Seasonal Blankets

  • As the seasons change, so do the needs of our equine rescues. Lightweight blankets offer protection from spring showers and chilly autumn nights, while heavier blankets provide essential warmth during the harsh winter months. While we prefer to let the horses' coats take care of them, our senior, geriatric, arthritic horses can sometimes use a little bit of help! While we have lots of blankets, some are starting to de-waterproof and even rust... almost time for an upgrade. And what a perfect Christmas gift!
